Successful launch of the EUTELSAT 21B satellite, built by Thales Alenia Space for Eutelsat The EUTELSAT 21B* communications satellite was successfully launched yesterday from the Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana, by an Ariane 5 rocket. Thales Alenia Space is prime contractor for this programme, on behalf of Eutelsat Communications, one of the world’s leading satellite operators. Carrying 40 transponders, EUTELSAT 21B will replace EUTELSAT 21A, increasing capacity at the 21.5° East orbital position by more than 50%. EUTELSAT 21B is the 23rd satellite built by Thales Alenia Space for Eutelsat. |
